Hi Brian, to increase or decrease volume use the up and down arrows. Left and
right arrows are used for track change. The little button in the middle is the
OK button.
You can't rename files on the unit. You do it on your pc. Either connect the
DM5 via the USB to your pc, or alternatively put the card into a micro SDHC
card reader and access the files that way, then using f2 you can rename them.

just bought the olympus dm5 digital voice recorder. If anyone has one could
you help by letting me know how to increase or decrease the playback volume
through the internal speaker. be greatful for any other tips also including if
it's possible to name recorded files with a name other than the daye and time?
