Hello Damon,
Yes, they can be used for professional recordings providing you have the
recording level set correctly and bearing in mind how sensitive the mics
are when working close to them or any wind noise, even from an indoor fan.
they are more suited to speech, but you can get some pretty good ambient
recordings.
