On the Nokia N70 this is above the clear text key on the right hand side, it 
can be assigned to a number of different pre-set destinations for example you 
can set it to go to your text messages if you like.

I recall that Talks is unable to read the list of Active Standby applications 
which are displayed as icons with a little tool tip.

    Hi,

    The end call key takes you back to stand by mode whether or not you use 
active stand by. I think the only advantage of active stand by is that it is 
visual so people don't have to remember short cuts, it certainly isn't as good 
for us!
