thanks Eleanor I will keep at it but I have been doing it for ages and it just
doesn’t happen. not only that I don’t really know where you are supposed to use
it. Janet

hi Janet
I am sure you would be able to do these gestures if somebody could be with you
and show you how to carry them out. The scrub gesture is a very fast action
which you do in the shape of a print letter Z The best way I could describe it
to you is a very rapid movement to the right followed by very rapid to the left
and then to the right again without lifting your fingers off the screen. for
the rotar action you are placing your thumb and index finger above each other
and thinking of the position as though it was like a knob on the cooker. it is
then a case of while your fingers are in contact with the screen flicking your
wrist in a sideways movement to the left. maybe if you are near are NIB you
might be able to make an appointment for someone to work through these gestures
with you.

Hi Bobby, I am an iPhone user also and I still can’t do a lot of stuff like
using the rotta and the scrub gesture that has already been described. I enjoy
learning from people from this list as do a lot of other people. wishing you
all the best in your creative writing and using your iPhone. Janet

Hello,
My name is Bobby, I am blind and live in Dundee in Scotland.
I rely heavily on access technology to fulfill my daily needs.
I have 3 computers, a desktop pc with windows 10, a small notebook and a
laptop.
I use NVDA, and jaws for windows for access.
I also recently purchased a new Iphone, but am pretty hopeless at using it.
I'm an old-fashioned keyboard user, but guess I'll just have to percevere
with it.
I intend on attending classes in creative writing at Dundee University in a
few months, so any tips on what I would need would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Bobby
