Hi Bobby
Welcome aboard! Glad to have you with us. I am an old timer on this list,
having been a member for about a million years maybe even longer. So I could
be called a fossil of a bygone age LOL :-) seriously though, I’ve been on this
list for a very long time and I’m a very heavy technology using myself. Would
be very happy to help out with teaching you how to use your iPhone as this is
something are used to do when working for the RNIB on the online today project
among other things. I frequently put my head above the parapet and luckily I
haven’t had it blown off yet but if you have any specific questions about how
to use your iPhone or apps or indeed anything else, I’m more than happy to help
as I’m sure are many others. Good luck and I wish you every success with
learning how to use your new device, as you will see it will soon become an
indispensable part of your life.

Hi Bobby.
My name is Andy Logue, and I live in the West Coast of Scotland in a very
butiful village called Kilncreggan. My wife and I own a farm and I am a Social
Landlord, now that I've retired from the Social Work Department. My wife is a
Mental Health Officer and is still finishing off her contract prior to
retireing herself, nedxt year.
I'm a retired Social work manager, specialising in Sensory Impairment and both
Pauline and I are now at an age to move to Dundee, or Broughty Ferry, , if only
we could afford the high prices, haha!
I have a couple of friends in your area who work for Action for Blind People
and may be able to offer a little support and whither or not my assistance
would be of help to you, I am in no doubt, that
Access Uk is the best place to go for the best and up to date information with
advice and support, regarding technoligy for visually impaired people,
You have already shown to us that you are able to reach out for assistance and
I believe that you have arrived at the right place, with Access Uk.
So hear ar a couple of resourses but you sound that you are on target anyway.
The city of Pearth has, I believe, a really good Resource center for VI
residents as does Dundee resource center for disabled people, so you are
reaching out already for the kind of help you are looking for.
Dundee University also has a huge resource center for disabled students and
like most colleges and universities in Scotland, has grants to help you withe
readers and equipment. So go for it my friend.
Please don't hesitate to contact me again as I may well be able to offer some
asistance. However I'm 55 and total and the young VVI community really
intimidate me because they have so much to offer. and make me out as an old
VIperson, haha.
Very best wishes.
Andy Logue.

Hello,
My name is Bobby, I am blind and live in Dundee in Scotland.
I rely heavily on access technology to fulfill my daily needs.
I have 3 computers, a desktop pc with windows 10, a small notebook and a laptop.
I use NVDA, and jaws for windows for access.
I also recently purchased a new Iphone, but am pretty hopeless at using it.
I'm an old-fashioned keyboard user, but guess I'll just have to percevere with
it.
I intend on attending classes in creative writing at Dundee University in a few
months, so any tips on what I would need would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Bobby
