Thank you so much for your wonderful advice and encouragement.
I've been out of the loop for so long, I had no idea there was so much help to
be had out there.
I really need to do something constructive with my life.
I was seriously asulted two months ago and had to retire my guide dog Queenie
early.
And it will be two to three years until I get a new dog.
I'll just have to soldier on with the cane in the meantime, but North East
Sensory Services in Dundee have been wonderful at getting me help.
I am interested in Action for Blind People, could you give me more info Andy?
I have a desktop PC that's not talking to me so need sighted assistance in
getting it talking again, and installing a sound card on it.
Sure it has a built in sound card, a realtech i think, but I prefer my Asus
essense STX card which is awsome for movies and music.
The laptop I use is getting on a bit and is rather slow for my liking.
I hope you and your wife are successful at finding a house in Dundee Andy.
I do poke fun at my home town on occasion, but Dundee is a very nice town with
lots of interesting places to visit. Naturally we have Captain Scott's ship
the Discovery, and the new VA museum which Prince William and Kate visited a
few months ago.
Also there are a lot of very nice pubs and restaraunts too.
If you plan on ever visiting Dundee, give me a ring and I can give you and your
wife suggestions on places to visit and nice places to eat.
Have you ever thought of trying for a house in little towns like Newport,
Tayport or Wormit?
Sure they are in Fife, but Dundee is just across the Tay Bridge.
Just a short trip by car or bus, and you are smack in the middle of Dundee City
Center.

Access Uk is the best place to go for the best and up to date information
with advice and support, regarding technoligy for visually impaired people,
You have already shown to us that you are able to reach out for assistance
and I believe that you have arrived at the right place, with Access Uk.
So hear ar a couple of resourses but you sound that you are on target
anyway.
The city of Pearth has, I believe, a really good Resource center for VI
residents as does Dundee resource center for disabled people, so you are
reaching out already for the kind of help you are looking for.
Dundee University also has a huge resource center for disabled students and
like most colleges and universities in Scotland, has grants to help you withe
readers and equipment. So go for it my friend.
Please don't hesitate to contact me again as I may well be able to offer
some asistance. However I'm 55 and total and the young VVI community really
intimidate me because they have so much to offer. and make me out as an old
VIperson, haha.

My name is Bobby, I am blind and live in Dundee in Scotland.
I rely heavily on access technology to fulfill my daily needs.
I have 3 computers, a desktop pc with windows 10, a small notebook and a
laptop.
I use NVDA, and jaws for windows for access.
I also recently purchased a new Iphone, but am pretty hopeless at using it.
I'm an old-fashioned keyboard user, but guess I'll just have to percevere
with it.
I intend on attending classes in creative writing at Dundee University in a
few months, so any tips on what I would need would be appreciated.
