Well Chris there's always the Portset Media Centre.Although more expensive than the I-Player it does far more, and I can say from experience is a good deal more wholistically accessible and reliable.

That's very bad news. I was hoping one day to get the IPlayer whenever I can access Freeview. There are software and hardware devices that allows you to watch freeview on your PC, but indeed where does it leave us in terms of accessibility, particularly those who don't own a computer?
