George, do you think it would make any difference if i burned these files to
dvd instead of cd. Or will i need to convert them to something else, for
them to burn on my home player, or is it more cash for new dvd player.

Just a thought here. I know that my own Panasonic DVD Recorder/Player, connected to my TV, lists various types
option,DVD which, having been recorded on a PC, either will, or will not, play on it.
Perhaps it's time for a bit of RTFM?
