Very adventurous, Ron. I use my keyboard a lot too but did manage successfully to use the onboard keyboard last night to select a CD I wanted to play.

Hello Carol, I do hope you get the birds soon. I am very
pleased with yesterday because I had more time to play
with my toy. In the category section of the app store I
discovered that when you buy an app it says installed. I
used my keyboard a lot and found out that if you go back
with the left arrow key it brings up the back button
eventually and you can get out of that one and move on.
I have also bought the trees of Britain and the radio
tuner that Jackie told us about. Today I search for
nature sounds and one called Glee. This one tells me
that if I sing a song a harmony backing group will joined
in with me. I will also try to put Skype on it. My son
and grandson want me to try Face TIME.

Take care and good luck.

Ron

Hi Ron,

Yes, I now know where the voices are.

I haven't got the birds yet but will as soon as I get a
few moments to play. ...

Hello Carol, I see Marie has responded to you so hope you
have found them. At the moment mine is playing up. It
must be my fault it usually is. It stopped speaking and
now is playing music. I guess my kind friends will come
to my rescue when they are not busy.

Did you get the birds?

Take care

Ron

Well, Ron, I haven't seen the voice alternatives???
They've got to be under Settings, General, Accessibility,
but I haven't seen an alternative. Please tell me where
to go! <Smiles>

Debbie, I think it depends on your hearing impairment.
I have a hearing loss and when the volume is turned up
to maximum it is fine for me. There is a male voice
certainly on the IPod touch so you can change it. I am
a beginner so I may be talking rubbish. The pod is
wonderful and with the help of two young ladies on this
list I am getting there. Watch this space.....

What about people who have a nearing impairment and find
the Iphone voice difficult to hear, as I do as it is a
female voice and I understand that at present you can't
change the default voice that is the reason why I am
reluctant to go down that road at the moment as I can't
hear it all that
well.
So please can people stop being sarcastic and answer the
questions in a civilised and helpful manner or keep
quiet

Debbie

Dave,

Why can't people ask a quite legitimate question without
it
being put down by a sarcastic comment? What will people
say
when Apple have killed off all the competition and there
is
no choice out there?

Hi,

TALKS only works on Nokia phones.

As the CEO of Nokia has admitted himself, Nokia has
missed
the boat,
and
if I were you, I would be looking at the I phone, with
which you do
not
need to purchase extra text to speech software, such
as
TALKS, as it
has Voice over as standard, as with all Apple products.

Accessible straight out of the box, as it should be.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Please is there a website where I could find
out
what other
phones are out there that will take talks on? or
does anyone
know of other phones talks works on? must have easy
to feel
keys,
similar to the Nokia N86
