Hi Kevin the national center for tactile diagrams which was formerly part of
the university of hertfordshire but is now integrated in to rnib do just this
sort of thing and with a quick turn around. They are however a mainly
commercial service although last time I used them they did offer a sponsored
service for projects for individuals so you only paid £20 per image. Note that
that's per print image, one print image might end up as several tactile images
depending on scale perspective etc. Don't know if this would cover maps though
I guess it depends on the complexity of the source image. Speak to sarah

hi all, i know the RNIB used to do such things, say of your local area on
request. the service was free but the turn around time was forever and a day.
not sure if they still offer the service or not. does anyone know anywhere else
offering a map production service, free or otherwise?
