Personally I use a jumbo roller as it is much bigger and doesn't snag in bad pavements as easilyas the standard roller does. Can't answer the second question but yes you would get the VAT exempt price 
if buying as an individual.

Just out of interest, I'm surprise you've being charged for  the tip.  Our
local disability provisions are governed by the local Council and they have 
always said just to call them and they will sort out tips.  Not that I've
replaced mine in forever, but just surprised.

Hi all -
Since choosing no longer to be a guide dog owner, the GDBA have supplied me 
with a long cane [Revolution with roller tip], but now that I need a new
tip, they say I have to fund my own, or try social services.

I've just looked at the RNIB website, under long canes, and can see my
Revolution cane listed. Firstly, I assume I would be charged the VAT free
price? and secondly, can somebody tell me about the different tips for this 
cane? I can't quite figure out the advantages of one over another, like I
say, I have been using the roller tip, which seems to have good durability
for street work, what are the pros and cons of the other tips over the
roller tip?
