Hi John
That waiting time for a replacement dog is not what GDBA would lead you to believe. As for the £120 for hotel charges, that is the first I have heard the Client having to pay. I would be interested to know more about your experience as I am planning to go to Guide Dogs Stakeholders meeting in Birmingham next Tuesday and if what you say is fact, this needs to be challenged.
Kind regards Keith.

hi list with regards to guidedogs and long cane training I can only say from my point of view how sad I am to see the association going down the wrong route as regards training blind persons.
as a totally blind piano tuner I feel the policies of gdba are ruining the work of the association.
I have been waiting for a new dog now since last September and my partner has been waiting since a year last April.
I could go on about this for ages but will not but hope things improve.
I cannot see me training at a hotel as I understand the cost is £120 per night so we must wait and wait and turn tunings down and wait.
