Hi Ibrahim,

You can play picture in DVD extractor, there is an option to check it. If
you don't have it, then upgrade.

All the best

Steve

Hi Andy.

Firstly, yes I know XP has its own cd burning software, but this is very
basic and insufficient for my needs really. Secondly, I own a copy of DVD
audio extractor but I want a dvd player for displaying picture as well as
sound. I'm also looking for on the fly navigation through the dvd, various
sound options, audio track selection etc which can't be done using DVD Audio
Extractor not at least when the disk is playing. You can't even bookmark
positions or return to where you last left off.

Hi Ibrahim -

Isn't your netbook an XP machine? XP has a built-in burning facility.

Chris recommended DVD Audio Extractor, note, this is software to rip the
audio track from a dvd, you can play the dvd without ripping the sound
track, but there is no picture, don't know if that matters to you. I like
DVD Audio Extractor because I can save the sound track in mp3, and put it on
my phone or whatever, and take it on the move! -

Subject: [access-uk] lightweight cd and dvd packages for my netbook

Hi Everyone.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a lightweight accessible dvd
player and a cd burning application that I could use on my netbook free or
otherwise. The reason for asking this question is that I don't really want
to install Nero or Roxio as these suite packages are extremely large, come
with many components I probably wouldn't use and are a hog on system
resources. All I'm really looking for is a wizard based cd burner capable
of burning basic audio and data disks but with advanced options as well, and
for the dvd player something that has plenty of shortcut keys for performing
playback and other functions.

All the best and look forward to hearing from someone.
