Hi Terry,
I've bought a couple of the newish Toshiba A series laptops for people. Quite
well priced around £6-00 with a 2 gig celeron processor but they work well with
JFW and they're quite thin and light. The floppy is not included though.

  Subject: [access-uk] laptop portability

  Hi all
I'm taking up a new position next month, as a social worker for people with
learning disabilities.

I will be needing a laptop to use in the office, and to carry around when
doing home visits.

I'm looking for something which is as light as possible.

I prefer the lay out of the Compaq laptop keyboard. Something with 1.5 - 2g
processor.

the main consideration is the weight.

I thought I heard that there were laptops whereby the base splits in half,
i.e. you can leave behind, things like, CD-ROM, floppy, network adapters, etc.

Is there any machines out there that are fast, compatible with JFW, and very
light?

Any assistance would be very very much appreciated.

  Thanks for reading.

  Best wishes

  Terry
