Hi Jackie,
It would be even nicer if K Reader was not a self-talking application, but
made to be compatible with Mobile Speak and Talks. That way, you could have
whatever voices were available.

TALKS zips through the menus on the N82, it's really responsive. Absolutely
fab!!
I agree it would be nice if the K-Reader could use the same voice as TALKS.
All in all, it's a very neat setup.

I dnever had the original reader but I do like how the phone version starts
to read before it has finnished processing, slightly making up for its
slower processing speed. Strangely, I now prefer the UK Eloquence but when
I first got it with Talks a few years ago I didn't like it but I stuck with
it and changed my mind! I was playing with both the other day and I don't
know if things have changed but I'm sure the American and UK voices have
completely different accents than the PC version. I used to remember them
being identical but that could be my preference. The RealSpeak voices sound
like lower quality recordings but but if you try Talks with the RealSpeak
voices the RealSpeak licence also comes with the use of Vocalizer, a much
better set of voices in my opinion. It is therefore a shame you can't use
your Talks voices with the KNFB reader. I also love the phone with its
size, WIFI, Satnav receiver all be it average, the zip utility it has and
the improved music player to my 6680. Talks is so much more responsive now

the N82, and scanned a variety of items such as utility bills, bank
statements, medication and boxes of frozen foods. By and large, I found the

I also really like the N82 phone. It has a nice keypad and is smaller than
my N91 or the N95 for that matter.
While I borrowed it, I updated the N82 to the latest version of TALKS, and
that improved this habit it used to have of TALKS chuntering when you
entered the K-Reader software. It doesn't do that now, which is much
better.
I'm no expert about this product though, and had a play with it for a few
days. I agree it is expensive, nobody is going to deny that, but it's a
great piece of kit if you want all the facilities of a good phone with
TALKS, plus the ability to be able to scan on your travels, all in one
device.
