Hi there. For what it's worth, earlier this week I didn't want to have to go thru the hassle of taking Mcafee off this new machine and researching then installing a new anti virus program. I just don't have enough time these days so was looking for a really quick way to authorise jaws. Blazie emailed me a 100 character code that I pasted into a field in the jaws authorisation area and it was complete within seconds and none of this program faffing. When the Mcafee free trial disappears, I should have researched and sussed out a new virus protection solution hopefully.

Hi Ibrahim I removed McAfee simply because I was having difficulty accessing it with JAWS, and because I use and know AVG a bit, so opted to put that on my NC10 instead. I personally use Mcafee with jaws and have no problems. It is possible to make it user friendly with a couple of quick adjustments, and now I've Mcafee software licenses deployed across all four of the household computers. I do wish that people wouldn't rubbish products before they've evaluated them fairly. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eleanor Burke" <eleanorburke@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 07, 2009 10:15 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: jaws authorisation on netbook againI agree with you Jackie. The person who kindly set upmymachine installed and activated JAWS for me while McAfee was still on the machine. I then removed McAfee and put on AVG 8.0 Free, and have not encountered any problems with JAWS. Disabling them, or not activating them will not do it. -----Original Message----- From: Damon <damon.rose@xxxxxxxxx> To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Wednesday, January 07, 2009 12:46:40 PM Subject: [access-uk] jaws authorisation on netbook again Hi there. Thanks for previous thoughts on this but it seems I amstillunable to authorise my copy of jaws on my new Samsung NC10. I so far deliberately haven't taken advantage of the Mcafee offer and the mcafee window remains open. I've tapped my 20 character jaws code into the correct edit field and I'm being told 'please wait'. Though it warns me it may take several minutes, 10 minutes go past without any change. So I guess that I haven't connected with the Freedom Scientific servers and certainlytheproject is not registered yet. Note that I've not had a mcafee window popup to tell me that jawswantsaccess to the internet. And I've had my jaws updated today to makesureI have enough lives left. Any thoughts appreciated. Also, weirdly, I can't ever seem to close down the jaws activation window with an alt f4. I understand there is a way of having an email sent that willauthorisejaws for me. Does anyone know anything about this? Will it need to access the freedom scientific servers because this seems a bhit of an issue for me. Thanks v much. Oh and this is the first ever email sent by netbookfromme.
