Subject: [access-uk] jaws 10

Hi all

when I tried to install jaws 10 from the cd, it just wouldn't work. I got
the message that the process of installing jaws may take several minutes and
I should hear clicks, just as it was on jfw9, so I waited, and I waited.
The cd didnt' do anything and heard no sounds. I must have tried four times
before giving up with it and going to the FS website, downloaded the
official jfw10.0.512 , saved the installer, ran it and had no problem at
all. I had to download all the training material I wanted doing it this
way, but should I keep the installer in the event that I want to modify jaws
10 in some way or do a repair on it.

If anyone else has had a problem like mine, please let me know. I seem to
be ok, haven't noticed anything in particular wrong yet, so I must have done
it all successfully. The only thing I am considering now is that I have
three versions of jaws on this machine, jfw 8, and 9 as well as jaws 10 and
I'm thinking of removing jfw8 leaving me with just two versions. Am I
correct in my reading of the documentation, I should not remove any shared
components? Should I go to add/remove straight away or go to jfw6 under
programs, use tools and go to uninstall jaws?
