Hi Jacky

In a news agent such as smith, one month copy of a pc magazine is around £6 or
more so that would work out quite a lot over a year so we are getting a bargain
for £39 a year.

Regards

Adrien

Hi Iain

I completely agree. If you go into a newsagent, you have to buy your magazine
or newspaper, and while some stuff is available at a public library, you can't
take it away with you, and you probably don't have the same choice you would
from a shop. It isn't unreasonable to have to pay for such a service in my
view, and I think it is good value. I also thought the Talking Books and
OverDrive services were good value for money, that was never the issue for me.

Kind Regards,

But you can't take them away from the building. I really think this is asking
for too much.

correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure all newspapers are available to be read
in libraries.

Ou could argue that you should be entitled to a free library service,

I think it should be free.
Same reason as talking books free.

Hi Mo,

I’m subscribed to the e-text download service; about £40 a year I
think. I use mainly the newspapers and tv and radio guides, and Which
and Computer Which, but of course I can dip into any magazine at
leisure. I receive some of my magazines by email as part of that
subscription.

Hello Everyone.

I'm looking for people who are subscribed to RNIB newsagent. I
received a catalogue from them today, but the pricing structure isn't
very clear. I am looking to receive magazines via email or download.
which would be the cheaper option? the implication is that magazines
can be downloaded if you subscribe to the service as a hole, but email
prices per issue seem to be around the £25 mark per issue anually. is
it cheaper if you subscribe to the download service to gain access to
all the magazines at once?

the other question I have is regarding how much of the publication
is edited by the RNIB. do we get access to all articles in which
magazine for example? or just some of the articles? any advice would
be very much appreciated.

all the best,

Mo.
