Ed, many thanks, that cured it. I only have to flick up or down and it will
change from touch typing to standard mode, so I must have done that by
mistake at some point.

Cheers,

Hi Mark,

Go into a text field such as a text message, then make the turning rotor
gesture until you hear your iPhone say "typing mode". Swipe up and down
with one finger to change the setting to "Standard typing". You may then
want to turn the rotor back to a different setting.

It's possible that you have the rotor set to typing mode already if closing
the case activated "Touch typing" by mistake, so before you turn the rotor,
you may just want to swipe up and down with one finger once you're in a text
field to see if that changes it.

Hope that helps.

Ed

Hi all.

Can anyone tell me how to get my iPhone 4s out of touch typing mode, please.

I heard it announce touch typing mode as I shut the case on it but have no
idea how I activated it.

Cheers,
