The send button is definitely to the right of the text of the message. It changes from Record Audio to Send once you start typing text.

The send button should be in the same place on the screen whether it is an
iMessage or a text.

the thing that got me was that I could write the message but couldn't find
where to send it.

Hi,

iMessages are sent usually through wifi, so no text message is spent unless
away from a wifi point of connection.

Almost a bit like live messaging from the past!

I wonder if the difference is that an i-text is more like a live connection?
I’ve noticed that when friends have sent me an i-text, Voice-over tells me
that they are typing a reply.

hi Alison don’t know but it is easier to do an ordinary text with a keyboard
than an i one.
