  Hi,

Thanks William, I suppose the other solution is to turn down the volume!

no in answer to your second question and just tap 2 fingers together on
screen i think that stops what is being spoken

    Hello,

Does anyone know how to silence the speech on the iPhone whenever a
notification comes through; even when the phone slide switch is at muted?

Also, is there a way to keep the keypad on-screen when holding the phone up
to your ear? It is a pain when you have to take the phone from your ear to
press keys when you are somewhere quiet and want to delete voicemails or hang
up.

    Many thanks,
