Yes, that was the gadget. I didn't own one myself but saw it used.

Sometimes it's too noisy for voice to give a number and I was just wondering if those tones do transfer to iphones.

I'll probably ask Cobolt the next time I speak with them.

I think I know what you mean. Wasn't it a gadget that you tapped in the
number at your leisure then pressed a button and the tone played back to you which you could play down the phone to dial the number. I would assume that you could actually record the number with a decent recorder and do similar.

Cheers

I haven't but some have and found it a workaround for them.

I wonder if something like the Cobolt dialer would work here in situations
where you just want to send figures to your phone?

Anyone know waht I'm on about and have an answer to that? I could cope
with carrying a small dialpad around with me but not a full-blown keyboard
all of the time.

Anyone got a work around for this? Anyone tried using a keyboard for
this purpose?

I find entering numbers against the clock on a touchscreen keypad is
a real pest. I hate it.

Hi All, a very irritating problem I now have is say when I phone my
service provider Vodafone from my iPhone and a recorded message
starts saying something to the effect, we have noticed you are
calling from a number ending 459, please enter the full number, then
I have a race against the clock and between Vodafone recorded
message to try and input my 10 or 11 digit number. Often I am too
slow so I just get this recorded message starting over again and it
is so difficult to work around. I must add I do not have any
hearing loss but it is difficult discriminating between the Vodafone
voice and music and voice over. How are others coping with this
problem? I believe it is an issue for O2 customers also.

Eleanor
