Hi Eleanor does it matter whether voiceover is on or not don't you still press the home button twice?

I am want to a sighted person how to get to the app switcher so they can
close apps and not have them running in the background. However, as I use
voice Over, I do not know what to tell them to do. Anyone not using voice
over who can assist or maybe voice over users are more knowledgable than
myself in this area.
