You can get a mini USB to headphone jack converter for the 7 though, or even
USB headphones.

Yes, the 5SE has a headphone jack on it. the iPhone 7 doesn't. the iPhone SE
is easier to handle, the 7 is larger. So No, in my humble opinion there
isn't much you'd gain.
