I was going to leave the update for a while, or at least until some of the
reported major bugs were fixed. But then, as with these things, there is
always so much rumour and counter-rumour that I decided to go with it
anyway. It's like a focus issue where I double-tap on the Send button but
nothing happens, or this weird thing comes up where I am told the sender
isn't in my contacts, and Report Junk button. What's that all about? If it
were one particular contact all the time, I would perhaps delete it and
re-enter it, but this is becoming consistent since the iOS 13 update so I am
obviously suspicious now.
I've now turned off the haptic feedback, I could live with it but would
rather not. There is an adjustment for the level of feedback, but this
doesn't work so I've now dumped it altogether. If the update comes out
later and I can't resolve the Messages app issue, I may have to go to an
Apple Store and get some sighted assistance because it's really annoying. I
wish I could get into the habit of dictating all my messages but I can't!

Hi Jackie,
You can turn off haptics in Sounds, within settings.
I haven't tried your messages issue, but there were warnings not to upgrade
until 13.1 came out. This should be today I believe.

Apologies for cross-posting, but I will try to explain an issue I am having
using an iPhone 8 in the Messages app. When someone sends me a text
message, and I try to send a reply, I'm finding that I see a Report Junk
Button, and the words 'This person is not in your contacts' beside it even
though they are. If I compose a text message to someone either by typing it
or dictating with Siri, the message goes. It's driving me mad to be honest,
yet I can't find out what's causing the problem because my contacts are all
in order, and I haven't altered anything since the update apart from putting
the keyboard to the way I prefer it which is to lift a finger when I want to
input a character.
Is this a bug or is there something else going on?
I also don't like the constant haptic feedback going on with this release
too, turning it down to 0 doesn't seem to stop it each time I type or
navigate the screen.
