Why don't you change the subject line?

I went through School reading and writing totally in Braille with a Eureka at the later stages. When I left and went to College I found myself to be a terrible speller and it took a few years to sort that out, mainly as I could use the screen reader to quickly check a word I wasn't sure about. I now find it helps me though but I will add that punctuation was very important, we knew about it if we got that bit wrong!

I don't know where you got that info from Jim? The Blind people I know are brilliant spellers and know punctuation. In any case with a computer using Jaws
at least and the spell checker it shouldn't be too difficult.

John,

I too, find this somewhat annoying.

However, I was given the following possible reason by a
Braille user many years ago.

It seems that some blind children who were taught Braille at
an early age were not shown the importance of punctuation.
And as they had no concept of the visual medium of printed
material, its bearing of how sentances are constructed was
not taken on board.

Apologies Austin, if I have got things wrong in your case.

Hi Austin, have you ever heard of punctuation? Your posts
don't contain so
much as a full stop, let alone a comma, so are effectively
one long
sentence, which doesn't make for easy reading. Neither are
there any capital
letters. I don't mean to sound pedantic, but it would make
for easier
reading if you punctuated.
                   John.
