Anyone who has read a Braille book, would have seen punctuation. Iain-----Original Message----- From: Jim Williams

Ron, I accept the vast majority of blind people do use punctuation correctly and are good spellers but I was told by a blind person who learnt Braille in a blind school that they couldn't understand the need for punctuation as they had not seen it written down in eg. books or newspapers. Once this ws explained to him, he understood. Blame the teacher not the child. The Blind people I know are brilliant spellers and know punctuation. In any case with a computer using Jaws at least and the spell checker it shouldn't be too difficult. However, I was given the following possible reason by a Braille user many years ago. It seems that some blind children who were taught Braille at an early age were not shown the importance of punctuation. And as they had no concept of the visual medium of printed material, its bearing of how sentances are constructed was not taken on board. Apologies Austin, if I have got things wrong in your case. Your posts don't contain so much as a full stop, let alone a comma, so are effectively one long sentence, which doesn't make for easy reading. Neither are there any capital letters. I don't mean to sound pedantic, but it would make for easier reading if you punctuated. John.----- Original Message ----- From: "austin pinto" <austinpinto.xaviers@xxxxxxxxx>
