See if you have the .net framework, check in add/remove programs to see if
it's there, then look at optional updates in windows Update and see if you
have Service Pack Two.

hello james, no i have not had the log in screen, i am the noly user on
this computer and i closer down and it came up.
all i did to log in is press the ok button. but i would like it to go
straight in to windows.

If you only have one user account with no password then it should go
straight in.
If you have the Microsoft .net Framework installed without Service Pack
Two, then it won't work, you have to update it through Windows Update.
Have you ever not had the Logon screen?
