Hi,

It also means that perhaps broader, national campaigns are sometimes called for
when services are postcode lotteries. This often applies to services of all
types, not just disability related services, provided fariously in different
parts of the country.

Best,
Clive

I think some people experience better facilities and services than others,
mainly depending on their place of living. Again, there's nothing like that
round here in Hertfordshire, Watford to be precise. Some people have access to
blindness specific social groups and talking book groups where as other people
do not have this set up in their local area. I think we just need to remember
what a necessity is and what an enjoyment is and moan about the big stuff :-)
I'm not saying that I wouldn't be annoyed if this had happened to me; if I had
experienced a service like this for many years, I would be quite frustrated if
it's suddenly shut down. However, it isn't a necessity in life and I think that
this needs to be remembered. Also, as blind people ourselves, we need to make
the effort to socialise with others in our local area by setting up groups and
forums when situations like this occur to continue socialisation within a
community.
