If it works the same as windows seven, opening up the start screen with win key and typing power options will do it. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Susan Bourke Sent: 07 January 2015 13:44 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: hi folks, Hi Martin, Tell me how do I get to power options? This whole new system I have is so different to what I've been used to. Yes I agree, can't understand why n v d a comes on it is weird having the both screen readers going at the same time. Many thanks Susan -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of martin wilsher Sent: 07 January 2015 13:28 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: hi folks, sounds like you have a process which says, switch into sleep when idol, then ask for verification on wake up. Disable this in power options. This should kill that annoyance. As for the nvda starting up, that's interesting. I would have thought narrator would be doing that. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Susan Bourke Sent: 07 January 2015 13:22 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] hi folks, Using windows 8.1 with window eyes 8.4 and office 2010. When I am away from my computer for a while it seems to go in to standby mode, then when I go back to it it's asking me to sign in and to put in my password. I don't normally have to do this. This also happens when I put it on sleep mode. What also happens is it turns on n v d a another screen reader I have on the computer as a back up. We had friends here for coffee this morning and out of curiosity I asked them what was on the screen she told me there was a thing like a clock which was sitting at 3 o clock and said easy access at it. Any ideas what's going on here?
