Hi maria,

I don't have a Samsung phone, but from memory, I believe in
Settings/Accessibility, you can change the keyboard to Rapid Input.  If you
turn that on, then you can lift to type, if you would prefer that.

Also, in Talkback Settings, make sure that Speak Passwords is on.

Other than that, I'm not sure at this stage why it isn't working.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] help with signing in to google on android phone

HI list.
I have a samsung  galaxy j 7.
I got talkback turned on with very little trouble, by long pressing the volume
up and down together.
I was also able to type in my wifi password and stuff with no problem.
The keyboard is set  so that you find the letter and double tap.  I don’t know
how to change this.
The problem i am having, is when trying to sign in to google.
I find the edit box, and am told “enter your email address or phone.  editing.”
However, when i find a letter and double tap, more often than not, i just get a
clunk noise and the letter doesn’t enter. Sometimes after a few tries, i get
some of the letters, or i get thrown out of the edit field.
If i do manage to get my email address entered, my password field acts the same
way.
does anyone have any idea of what could be going on?
As you can imagine, i can’t do much without being able to sign in to google.
thanks.
Maria
