Hi John

Your friend's best bet is to contact Talktalk and ask what their Pop3 and SMTP protocol is. For example, our SMTP for Sky is SMTP.sky.com, so it could be that your friend's is SMTP.talktalk.net.

Talktalk would know and should be able to confirm this for your friend.
