Hi.

I was wondering if anyone on list has used any tiger cub embossers made by view plus technology? I know they are geared more towards those people producing graphics, but i'd like to clarify a few things. First, may seem like an obvious question but i assume you can still print standard braille pages of text with them? How reliable are they? and are they easy to use? I have also been considering the attache and attache pro from RNIB, but it looks like you need a manual to hand constantly to configure the thing! what i also liked about the tiger range of embossers is they can print from word. But the question is, do they print in grade 1 braille or grade 2 braille by default when sending from word? is formatting retained? and can you change between grade1 and 2? the tiger embossers also have braille software included with them for braile production. everyone else seems to want to make you buy duxbury, even index braille don't seem to supply winbraille any more and their embossers seem heavier and larger than the tiger embossers. I haven't anything against duxbury, but an embosser should be supplied with at the very least, minimal braille translation software to get you started. If anyone has ever used a tiger cub embosser or has any comments, i'd be very greatful if you could get in touch either on or off list.

thanks in advance,

Mo.
