You can do this. It is in the options or preferences. The GW help will tell you
all you need to know about the program.

I’m trying out gw skype connect at the moment, and at first glance it is a good
program.
I have one ? though? How do I put the program into the system tray, when not in
use?.
I mean if I am just waiting for a contact to arrive on line. Can I take the gw
program off my desktop and place it in the system tray?. I do not want to close
or exit the gw connect program, but still be able to know if my contact comes
on line,
