I'm not making excuses, but it appears that Steve Hyde-Dryden, who
manages the list (or who at least has the freelist passwords) is
uncontactable. I'm sure there is a very good reason for this, as this
is most unlike Steve.
Several of us are trying to contact him, but if all else fails, since we
have two or three lists with freelists already, I try to call them
tomorrow if we don't hear anything before.
Sincere apologies to those who are getting unwanted messages. Please
bear with us a while longer. It's no consolation I know, but now might
be a good time to learn about e-mail filters and blocking addresses.

I share your frustration, Dan - and so do many others, I think. Although
I don't want to upset all the good folk who find the list so useful, I
do like your idea of flooding the list with rubbish if it's the only way
of getting something done. I'm going to give it another couple of days

Can I suggest in the meantime that all of us in the same boat complain
to freelists.org. They seemed very sensitive about spam the last time I
emailed them, though I still didn't get any results. Perhaps if we all
complain about the bad reputation this list is giving freelists we might
get something moving there.=20

To those of you who want to be on the list - I'm guessing you would be
as glad to get shut of us as we'd be to get off the list. If you have
names, email addresses or phone numbers of the people 'responsible' for
this list, please let us have them so that we can sort this out. Someone
is letting you and us down badly here.=20
