Hello Amro, I followed the link to the guidance you posted yesterday, and tried out the command when I got home and can still get nothing but error messages out of Get_iplayer now. So what was I doing wrong with Get_iplayer --pid b04mh75j To get episode 1 of The Searchers, the current classic serial? On a couple of other lists, people are trying all kinds of other ways to get Get_iplayer to deliver, and all to no avail. I sincerely hope this isn't the end of my collecting of current radio drama, or that I'll have to resort to the long-winded process of recording in real time. Thanks, Clive -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Amro Bilal Sent: 30 October 2014 15:23 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: get_iplayer not working Hi Clive, yes but mind you the PID is not necessary the end of the URL. E.g. the PID from the below URL of the TV program Would I Lie to You http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04mh6x6/would-i-lie-to-you-series-8-episode-7 is: b04mh6x6 However, you’re right it seems to be the case with radio programs that the PID is usually the end of the URL. Just thought I’d mention this small point out... Find the specific page for the programme you want. I looked for "Clasic Serial in the A to Z listing, then vclicked on the link to "The Searchers Episode 1 radio 4". 3. Look at the U R L for the webpage. The end of the address will generally be the letter B followed by about seven random letters and numbers. My Clasic Serial episode showed as: b04mh75j So your get_iplayer command to download it will be: Get_iplayer --pid b04mh75j Or, when said aloud: Get_iplayer space dash dash p I d b04mh75j It's a pity it's busted Webbie as well. So for the time being we’ll have to use the PID method to download TV and radio programs with get_iplayer. Do not despair if the above meant absolutely nothing to you, it did to me too! Read the below and you’ll be downloading radio and TV programs using the PID command with no time at all. For a concise explanation of the problem visit https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/topic/get_iplayer-search-and-pvr-functions-no-longer-work-no-fix-available/ To learn how to use PID read the section “The PID – WORKING” at https://squarepenguin.co.uk/guides/tv-download-guide/ Please note that with this PID method all other commands still work so one can use --versions=audiodescribed to download the audio described version of a TV program. The PID command works for radio in the same way as TV.
