Hi all,

Yes, apparently, as of yesterday, the BBC has removed the program data feeds which get_iplayer uses. So for the time being we’ll have to use the PID method to download TV and radio programs with get_iplayer. Do not despair if the above meant absolutely nothing to you, it did to me too! Read the below and you’ll be downloading radio and TV programs using the PID command with no time at all.

For a concise explanation of the problem visit

https://squarepenguin.co.uk/forums/topic/get_iplayer-search-and-pvr-functions-no-longer-work-no-fix-available/

To learn how to use PID read the section “The PID – WORKING” at

https://squarepenguin.co.uk/guides/tv-download-guide/

Please note that with this PID method all other commands still work so one can use --versions=audiodescribed to download the audio described version of a TV program. The PID command works for radio in the same way as TV.

The main index for the above get_iplayer guide can be found at

HTH,
Amro

Of no help whatsoever, but just to confirm that the same has happened to my installation very recently.

Has something changed on get_iplayer?
It just stopped obeying requests giving no information at all.
