I am almost certainly missing something but I have always wondered what is the
benefit of using GetIplayer for downloading BBC Radio Programs?
This is easy using the Webbie iPlayer Radio app.
Just press control s whilst the Webbie iPlayer program is playing and give a
file name and an accc file will be saved to your documents folder with all the
contents of the broadcast.
I do this for example to save in a few minutes a whole day’s worth of cricket
that I have missed which I can then catch up and listen to with my Trek Reader.
Acc files will play happily in VLC and if you need to it is easy to convert to
mp3 using Goldwave, Format factory and a host of other applications.
So what are the advantages of GetIPlayer and should I get it and learn how to
use it?

Thanks Amro,
The most important point is that it won’t work without the dash dash pid.
Get_iplayer is tolerant about whether you put the dash dash get in or not. The
results are the same, but thanks for the info. It’s always helpful to know the
shortest command that will work.
Best,
Clive

He doesn’t need the get bet either. Only use --pid.

Try:
Get_iplayer –get –pid b09mwcyg
So:
1. You may not need the ‘type=radio.
2. You were missing the –pid bit.
