Hi Billy, There is a ton of stuff about this error and DELL which comes up when you search Google with the following string. +"bad_pool_caller" +DELL I do not believe his problem will necessarily be resolved with a reformat, but he will probably need sighted help if the following is anything to go by. http://tinyurl.com/2mh5ea Or the full URL, which will likely wrap is: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/d sn/en/document?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&dn=1089120 George. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of TrueBlue & Proud Sent: Monday, August 13, 2007 11:29 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: format again? As I have already explained, he cannot boot into xp home, because of an upgrade that went wrong, and now he is now getting this: During the reinstall, I got the error message "bad_pool_caller". It then said: STOP: Ox000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x00000CD4, 0x020c0001, 0x833D3718) I can't get the computer out of the 'loop' of restarting the setup. When it shows me the above message, it then takes me to the log. Then after you click on 'close' it reboots, goes to the Dell logo screen, then the Win XP Home Ed screen, then says "setup is being restarted". It continues to do this every time, so I can't get out of it! He was advised to try a dos boot up disk. Now when he tries to format using the boot disk, he is getting the following: cannot format a network drive, this is as a result of typing on the a: drive: format c: Can anyone give him any help with this, he says, that it is driving him mad, Billy ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq __________ NOD32 2453 (20070812) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
