The trouble is that journalists seem to think that they know everything
about everything!
Sorry to some!
A deeper issue, of course, is the downturn of sciences in education.
I think, however, that we are seeing a turnaround. A friend is a chemistry
teacher in a girls' school not far from you in Bramley. Three years ago
they had to engage two more a-level physics teachers owing to demand!

David,
What happened to science programmes being presented by scientists
instead of eye-candy?
And before you all leap on me and say there are some scientisty types
that are also fit birds (snigger), they never seem to present radio or
TV programs. With the notable exception of Lucy Green, who also gets
all the anorak-clad chaps at ham radio rallies hot under the collar.
Come back James Burke, Patrick Moore, Heinz Wolfe et al.
Even the Royal Institute Christmas Lectures are now reduced to a
mind-numbing moronity of interactive cartoonery.
Miserable Mike

Downloaded it Mo and converted to an MP3.
It's amazing how the BBC manage to take a potentially fascinating and
exciting subject and make such a disastrously rubbish programme about it.
At least Dennis Klatt got the recognisation he deserves.
But other than that this is a typically dumbed-down and terrible
