=F3=88=B8=A6Rich, Thanks for your helpful input. I think you could well have something = here since NTL has just done a lot of working upgrading their service. = By what they suggested to me, I think they realised this afternoon that = the fault does lie with them. I shall be watching things over the coming days and need to have more = talks with them on several matters so hope this can soon be resolved. Thanks again. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx=20 -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: 19 August 2004 19:28 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: for Carol re duplicates=20 Hi Carol Late in on this one but here are my thoughts. Back over Easter NTL and many other ISP's upgraded the capacity of their = mail servers. Why they should have done this simultaneously I have no = idea, but the point is that during this time I was receiving numerous = copies of list mails and even some individual mails from friends etc. = You can get quite paranoid about duplicates and spend hours fruitlessly = trying to find a cause on your PC. It's my experience that the fault = lies with the Mail Servers and not with you. Frequently they are not = aware of the problem and it is resolved during their routine = maintenance. It's just a matter of patience. Each ISP has a number of = servers spread round the country and if you know enough about these = things it is possible to change the server you are logged to. Perhaps = someone else on the list knows how to do this. I've been walked through = it with NTL tech support before but couldn't tell you how with any = confidence.
