Hi Ali, My own experience has been that forst time round does take forever, but second time for a full scan is much quicker. I presume it must set some sort of flags for specific files which it feels do not require a byte by byte examination, and hence speeds things up. George. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ali Sent: 09 May 2010 11:03 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: firewall Thanks George, The full scan find it, and, it tells me that the Trojan is now killed. The quick scan does not find it at all. Do you think I should do another full scan at all, (it takes nearly 9 hrs though!). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ ---------------------- Thank you, Ali -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of George Bell Sent: 09 May 2010 00:51 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: firewall Hi Ali, Here below is what Microsoft say about "bumat!rts" if you have their Secuity Essentials. The do say a FULL scan, so if you've not done one before, then first time round, it may take a while. George. Recovery Manual removal is not recommended for this threat. To detect and remove this threat and other malicious software that may have been installed, run a full-system scan with an up-to-date antivirus product such as Microsoft Security Essentials, or the Windows Live OneCare safety scanner. For more information about using antivirus software, see http://www.microsoft.com/security/antivirus/av.aspx. -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ali Sent: 08 May 2010 23:27 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: firewall Thanks Hussein, I was also using Eset, but, recently, it allowed a Trojan called, "bumat!rts", only MS security essentials got it. In any case, I cannot remove the stupid thing and I may have to reinstall windows. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------ ---------------------- Thank you, Ali -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Hussein Patwa Sent: 08 May 2010 22:01 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: firewall Hi, I use eSet Smart Security and have never looked back.
