Hi Steve, Thanks for your input. Fortunately, the problem cured itself when the next signature update occurred, My email referred to my attempts to cure the problem on my desktop. My laptop , with exactly the same software installation also had the problem but when I checked the next day the problem had gone. I've reinstalled ESET 4.0 on my desktop and everything is fine I am a jaws user and to me, ESET 4.2 does seem to have an accessibility problem in that when a log file type is selected you have to use the jaws cursor(hence no scrolling) to read the file contents where as in 4.0 you can use the arrow keys. Do the following:- 1. Go into Eset. 2. Press Control-L. 3. Tab round to the combo box and select the log you want to view. 4. Finally, tab round to the list box, and you should be able to down arrow through the entries. When I tried to examine the log file for an overnight "in depth scan" this morning, there wasn't one! The other 3 log file types :- detected threats, events, and firewall were all there. I tried installing version 4.2 rather than the 4.0 I had been using with the same result. Unfortunately, the accessibility of 4.2 is significantly worse - it tells me that there are log files but won't let me read them! Has anyone had similar troubles or is it something I'm doing?
