That was your choice at time of purchase Adrian and you had the information at the time presumably. You then continued and made the purchase. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Adrien Collins" <adriencollins22160@xxxxxxxxx>

Hi Simon

I have been reading your other messages, I was only given 10 days to return the item and in that there are 2 weekends and the deadline falls on a Sunday, talk about being unhelpful. Being that I am in France, the post office is shut on Saturday afternoons and until Monday, by the time I got mum to pack the items up, I had lost 4 out of the 10 days, it is asking a bit much to get a package to the uk and then forwarded on to ebay.

Regards

Adrien

not at all! we need the extra time to sort out assistance and such, they
don't.
why does there always have to be one, who has to complicate the issue!

If we require extra time for such things as the returning of goods,
shouldn't sighted consumers demand extra time as well? Doesn't giving to us
this extra time discriminate against the busy sighted person who just
doesn't have time, for whatever reason, to package and send the goods they
might want to return?

Exactly Derek. Do people put on their order, I am blind and if the goods
are unsatisfactory I will need extra time to return as I am blind?

they are discriminating against us, by completely ignoring our needs as
disabled customers. such as giving us extra time for returning goods, as
we
need assistance to insure that labels have come out properly, or
recognizing

that with say extra cab costs in returning goods, that is not always the
best option, as they currently don't use a delivery service that will
collect from the customer's home.
there selling page on there site, is also very far from accessible,
something else that I for one have told them about on a number of
occasions,

but which they don't seem in any hurry to sort out.

In what way is ebay discriminating against the disabled?
And to keep on topic, we are talking about Technology aren't we!

They are treating us same as other customers,
(and no different to any other company that Sells goods via the
internet)

Let's not forget, when we place an oorder
(or paid the seller) we are then agreeing To terms and conditins.

Hi All

I have had this problem for about 3 years regarding how ebay treat
disabled
customers. I even took legal advice to try taking legal action against
ebay

for not complying with the disability access laws, but the solicitor said
it

would take too much money to take on sucha giant, and as they are not
based
in UK, it would be very difficult to enforce any laws to win the battle.

I did inform RNIB to take up the case, but they have done pretty much
nothing.

After further advice, I was informed, the only way to resolve this matter, would be to take this to the press and give reports about how such a large
company can flaunt disability access laws. However, it would take a
pertition to make this viable. I even thought about pertitioning my MP to
bring companies like this to justice, but with what has been happening
with
large companies like this not even paying their taxes, I doubt if action
would be taken. However, I feel we should all create a petition and lobby
ebay, so they have to listen to us as a mass group of disillussioned
people,

rather than as individuals, where they have no intention of doing
anything.
Unfortunately, money talks and ebay have a lot of moneyy to continue
ignoring the law.

Sorry for the rant, but it makes me sick, trying to challenge companies
like

ebay and betfair, who make millions, but are just greedy and do not care
about their customers.

Yes I have tried speaking with them on the phone but it goes
over the top, gets quite frustrating trying to get through
to them, they just don't listen.

Hi Simon

Yes I have tried that, I don't get any response when I tell
them about my disabilities, tried 3 times yesterday, no go,
e-mailing I think they just ignore it in spite of the
automatic response message, oh well, their loss.

don't hold your breath for one, you would be better off
calling them and
putting them on the spot that way, although even then, I
doubt you will get
any real help then either.

Yes I wrote to them twice yesterday explaining my problems
and where as amazon got back to me regarding a slightly
different issue straight away, I haven't had a response as
yet at from ebay, very poor. Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Hi

Does anyone know if ebay has a department who deals with
special needs issues? I recently purchased an item from ebay
and have to return it but am finding that when I explain
that things may take longer because I have to get
assistance, and also because I am in France, I feel like I
am hitting my head against a brick wall. Any idease please?
They don't seem to understand.
