Hi

Ok firstly, ebay and I have almost gone through the full
system, the dispute was escalated to ebay customer services
last week, they sent me a pre-paid label to return the usb
thumb drive to the seller but because it was for parcel
force, the french post office wouldn't accept it so I had to
post the package along with two others for amazon back to my
friend in the uk who until now hasn't received them, the
dead line is on Sunday the 28th of July, I doubt ebay will
get them in time, I will try and phone them tomorrow to try
and explain once more that I needed assistance to package
the items up and the fact that I had to post them to the uk
first but I doubt they will listen, as you said, I may have
to right the money off, will see. In spite of what you said,
the 3 experiences I have had with ebay products or items
sold on ebay have all been bad in one way or another so I
doubt very much I will ever use ebay again. Not for
electronics in any case. Just my feeling or point of view.
If I can't get my money back through ebay I may try paypal
but I don't think I'll have any joy there either. Not a very
good experience.

Regards

        Adrien

Hi Adrian.

Whether you will be able to get your money back will depend
very much on
whether you are dealing with an individual or business
seller on EBay. EBay
is a trading platform, so any disputes that arise from the
sale of goods
need to be resolved with the seller. Have you tried writing
to the seller
by sending them an email from the order summary page
explaining the
situation? If you cant deal with the seller or there is a
communications
breakdown where in you cant resolve the situation to your
mutual
satisfaction, you should then proceed to make a claim by
filing a dispute
with PayPal. Again, whether this is worth doing will depend
whether the
seller is covered by the PayPal buyer protection scheme
which not all are
depending on seller reputation. I have had to resort to
this process on a
few occasions over the years, it is long and arduous yes,
but if you have a
valid claim and the goods are indeed defective or fake, you
should be able
to get a refund. If the goods weren't of considerable
value, you could also
just write it off and put it down to experience. If the
seller has posted
the goods to you in France, unfortunately they'll expect you
to post the
goods back to them in which ever country they choose. Being
blind and
needing assistance to package up the goods I'm afraid is not
something that
they'll be interested in hearing, they sent the goods to you
and so long as
you send the goods back to them in the same condition they
arrive in, you
should be fine. If you still have the packaging, it might
be a good idea to
take pictures of the goods and packaging in case that the
inadequacy of the
packaging is something you want to make an issue of.

I hope the above tips help you, I am a seasoned EBay buyer
and while I can
say that I have had bad experiences, and who hasn't? I can
say that for the
most part EBay is a great place to find bargains from
individuals and
businesses alike, also some businesses exclusively trade on
EBay since it
provides all the tools and features needed for a growing and
developing
business where e-commerce is concerned.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Derik

Paying for goods but you don't expect to get a fake item and
when you try and explain to ebay themselves what
disabilities you have and that you need time to get
assistance to package goods up to return them and they just
simply ignore it, then where does that leave us? I wrote to
them twice on Monday and to date I have not received a
single response.

Adrien

In what way is ebay discriminating against the disabled?
And to keep on topic, we are talking about Technology aren't
we!

They are treating us same as other customers,
(and no different to any other company that Sells goods
via the internet)

Let's not forget, when we place an oorder
(or paid the seller) we are then agreeing To terms and
conditins.

Derek

Hi All

I have had this problem for about 3 years regarding how ebay
treat disabled
customers. I even took legal advice to try taking legal
action against ebay

for not complying with the disability access laws, but the
solicitor said it

would take too much money to take on sucha giant, and as
they are not based
in UK, it would be very difficult to enforce any laws to win
the battle.

I did inform RNIB to take up the case, but they have done
pretty much
nothing.

After further advice, I was informed, the only way to
resolve this matter,
would be to take this to the press and give reports about
how such a large
company can flaunt disability access laws. However, it
would take a
pertition to make this viable. I even thought about
pertitioning my MP to
bring companies like this to justice, but with what has been
happening with
large companies like this not even paying their taxes, I
doubt if action
would be taken. However, I feel we should all create a
petition and lobby
ebay, so they have to listen to us as a mass group of
disillussioned people,

rather than as individuals, where they have no intention of
doing anything.
Unfortunately, money talks and ebay have a lot of moneyy to
continue
ignoring the law.

Sorry for the rant, but it makes me sick, trying to
challenge companies like

ebay and betfair, who make millions, but are just greedy and
do not care
about their customers.
