Thanks for the suggestion, Johm.  I used to have to do that regularly 
but I have now changed to a yahoo.co.uk account for yahoogroups lists 
only and everything has gone smoothly since.  The odd thing about 
yesterday's problem was that messages from the list continued to come 
in although I could not post myself.

However, as you will see from my reply to Barry, it seems to have 
rectified itself this morning - let's hope it stays that way!
