Jim, perhaps I wasn't explicit enough. I have these AVI files which
obviously have a picture. I don't need the picture though, so I want to
convert them so I'm just getting the audio. Sorry for not explaining
better.

Hi,
You can convert them to either VDC or VOB. The VDC format lowers the quality of the picture, but you can get more on one disk. The VOB format is the best quality.
