Hello Jim,
Hold the recorder as you would for normal use, then turn it upside down still
with the screen facing you. Slide the battery cover from left to right. You
will feel it pop up but stay attached. Insert two 1.5V tripple A batteries
with the pointed (positive) pole of the right battery upwards and the flat
(negative) pole of the left battery nearest the cover hinge upwards. Please
note: you have 1 minute to change batteries before the date and time resets
and you will be prompted to set them again. After inserting the batteries
gently press the cover and slide it to the left until it clicks. Hope this
