Actually having said that, it won't even let us uninstall
skype because when
we try the same error message comes up so ti wouldn't even
launch the
uninstaller, which is why the other day I asked for those
uninstallation
programs that were discussed a while ago on this list.
Consensus seem to be
on revo uninstaller which we havern't tried yet, but we'll
see if that
helps.
I'm also tempted to remove skype from the registry, but
still bnot really
sure that this'd solve the problem if it is the problem with
this dll issue.
I run windows update on all my win 7 machines but I never
had this problem
though of course this fcould be that some file get corrupt
on certain
machines, kind of like on one of my pcs an update for .net
framework just
refuses to instal no matter what. But that's whole another
topic...

Ok I will have a look for you, you have to be careful
though. All I can
suggest though is that your frined uninstall skype, go to
the drive c
assuming that is the letter of the main drive, and remove
all folders
concerning skype, reboot the pc and try reinstalling skype.
It is a strange
one though, I am wondering if windows up-dates cause these
kind of problems.
Perhaps do a system restore first so you can always go back
if it doesn't
work. The other option is to get help from Microsoft via
skype support on
their website.

I don't want to highjack the thread, but I am having a
similar problem. As I
reported a few days ago (just sending again in case there's
someone out
there that didn't see the post) a friend is having trouble
starting skype
because, according to skype, a DLL is missing, so I could
also do with
knowing where to download a dll file that is safe. Unlike
yyou, I cn't even
find anything pertaining to the file that is missing apart
from some skype
community threads in spannish.
Just in case anyone can help the dll file in question is
dxvaz.dll.
So if anyone can help both of us about this it'd be really
appreciated.
