I am aware it behaves differently as against WinZip but it's advantage is
being able to extract files other than .zip, without having to include
additional facilities.

As for George's comment regarding extract file format, I note the original
post referred to the file extension as being .zip.ext; this, for a start,
would make me very suspicious and at the very least do a full virus and
spyware check against such files. All the extract format files I've so far
seen, simply have the .zip replaced by .exe and, as has been stated before,
these are files for which no extract utility is required, for the basic
elements for one should have been included as part of the executable code.
